Children attending Bible School classes at the Niceville Church of Christ have had some very “Good News” this summer. Their entire Sunday School experience has been transformed! Instead of traditional “sit in your seat” classes, children, ages four years old through the sixth grade, learn about the Bible on “Sonshine Parkway”. Sonshine Parkway provides children exciting experiences in five themed rooms designed to involve the children in high interest, hands-on activities. These rooms give children the opportunity to learn through different styles and utilize all their senses to better understand the Bible. Five theme rooms, through which the children rotate over a five week period, provide an opportunity for children to learn about the Bible from different perspectives.
The “Bread of Life Café” is hands-on learning through cooking and involvement in service projects for the community, church, family and friends.
“Creation Station” emphasizes the creative arts and crafts through children’s involvement in making their own art project related to the Biblical lesson.
“Paradise Games”, modeled after popular TV game shows, provides an active method for children to review the Biblical facts of each lesson.
The “Museum of Biblical History” emphasizes the archeological and historical background of the lesson and provides children an understanding of Biblical culture and map reading.
The “Faith in Action Theatre” is a theater setting where children watch lesson related movies, munch on popcorn, and “chill out” with their friends.
